Sup Muses?!
ADL are activities of daily living and as a person ages, ADLs can become increasingly difficult. As I’ve been training seniors, I make sure to include MANY functional strength training moves as it helps with ADLs. Below is a graphic of benefits I’ve heard from my seniors over the past year.
I didn’t realize I’d be helping with so many practical activities, but I am thrilled they are realizing that some of these exercises and daily tasks are easier because of our workout routines.
Often I start with bodyweight exercises and transition to weighted moves once my client is strong enough. Chair fitness and walking are both low impact ways to get started with functional training.
If you work at a senior center or living facility or work with seniors and want to get them moving, email me so we can talk about working together!
